Thanks for being here.

My name is Bren.

RYT500, PCAYT, Certified Yin Yoga Teacher

Specializing in breath awareness, mindful movements, and guided meditations while truly holding space for students, helping individuals advance their personal yoga practice is what I love about teaching.

I am honoured to be here to help you connect with yourself.

My first experiences with yoga were self-taught at the young age of 11 or 12 from a library book about how to practice yoga asana. As my developing mind became busier and more anxious, I wanted to learn about this 'meditation' I had heard would help. For another decade I researched and practiced all I could about yoga asana, meditation, and mindfulness, through many of life's dramatic ups and downs.

In my early twenties I met my now husband who was a student of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which added a layer of Daoist philosophy to my practice. I had, by then, found my love for practicing Yin Yoga, learning finally that it is possible for me to find peace in stillness.

Several years later we found ourselves in the small community of Naramata in the Okanagan Valley and I became acquainted with alumni of South Okanagan Yoga Academy - a yoga teacher training program with the highest philosophy content in the country. This was what I had been searching for: access to yoga's history and roots, through a modern, trauma-informed lens, instead of yoga for fitness and weight-loss.

I completed 200hr training, 50hr Yin training (under Bernie Clarke), Pain Care Aware training, and 300hr training all within a year.

We have now started a new chapter on Haida Gwaii, BC. I would love to share what I have learned and help those looking to find peace. I am filled with gratitude and awe to once again live beside the Pacific Ocean, near the rainforest, in the friendliest community I've ever been in.
